Nicole was a finalist for the CBC Pitch This! live pitch at Women in Film and Television Atlantic (WIFT-AT) – Making Waves 2025 conference for her short film Saltwater Cure. This live action drama is the personal story of Nicole’s last surf before her first step in treatment for breast cancer, a unilateral mastectomy. Saltwater Cure is a film about surfing, cancer and radical acceptance.
Saltwater Cure was originally a narrative essay, published in Wildfire Magazine in the New Normal issue December 16, 2023 that is available for purchase in print or digital.
